We left Wisconsin in Mid October. Once we mapped everything out we noticed that we would be passing Cadillac Ranch just outside of Amarillo, TX. It was a neat roadside stop and a piece of Americana that's really neat to see. There is a stand selling cans of spray paint so you can "leave your mark" on the cars stuck in the ground, but we passed a family that was nice enough to hand-off their unused spray paint so we could partake. We paid it forward before leaving and handed them off to another family.

We knew we wanted to spend a bit of time in New Mexico, so after a couple hotel stays and roadside attraction stops(Iowa, Kansas & Texas), we finally made it to our Airbnb in Albuquerque, NM. 

We stayed about 5 nights and explored the area. We loved it! It's so different from our norm. We took the Sandia Peak Tramway (cable car) to the top of the Sandia Mountains. Once up there, we walked around a bit and explored, then sat down to an amazing dinner at Ten 3, the restaurant up there. After dinner we watched the sunset from the peak. Then, we took the Tramway back down with the beautiful sunset glow that seems to be more vibrant in the desert.

We checked out some local restaurants and breweries as well as Petroglyph National Monument. Gravity Bound is an excellent brewery with a great selection! If you're a beer fan, it's worth checking out. The restaurants we tried were excellent, we aimed for anything with the local Hatch Green Chile's, we're big fans! Petroglyph National Monument was really neat! Seeing the well preserved petroglyphs and reading about them was very interesting. It's a very unique attraction. Definitely a state, city, and area we'll return to. The Breaking Bad Store ABQ was fun, I'm a fan of the show. They had some props and items that were used on set during filming.

Driving from Albuquerque to Phoenix takes approximately 6.5 hours. Driving through the Payson, AZ area in Northern Arizona is pretty. Definitely an area we'd like to return to for some hiking and outdoor activities. We were happy to arrive and move into our Phoenix "Casita" for a 6 month stay.

Saying goodbye to home didn't come without heavy emotions. Let's face it, home is home. Miami is where we met. It's where we went to college. Most of our friends are there. Exotic Bangkok Thailand!

Wat Nak Prok Bangkok Thailand, exotic to many including us. Growing up, Bangkok was a place you saw in the movies. It was a place that Anthony Bourdain or Andrew Zimmern were eating all of these crazy foods and exploring night markets. So naturally, as travelers, we couldn't wait to experience this city first hand.   Spoiler alert.....Bangkok is INCREDIBLE. We spent 2 months in this vibrant city and we loved it! The Thai smile is real, the locals are so kind and welcoming. And don't even get me started on the food. Get ready to gain a few pounds unless you have some strong willpower. After a week of exploring and just starting to feel comfortable with our surroundings, one common theme came to my mind. You will never go hungry in Bangkok, it is literally a buffet. Majestic Istanbul Turkey | Where East Meets West

Welcome to Istanbul Turkey - IST Airport is HUGE! Since we began planning our world travels, Istanbul has been near the top of the list. The fact that it is the only city in the world on TWO continents, is extremely fascinating to us. In addition, the food looked so good. It would be our first time visiting a primarily Muslim country, also very interesting to us.  So there was no doubt, Istanbul was happening. After spending the summer (a full 3 months) in Krakow, Poland; we needed to get out of Schengen and ultimately our travel plans were taking us to Southeast Asia for the winter months (and then some). We arrived in Istanbul in late August and it was definitely still summer. We were very happy we booked accommodations with air-conditioning. Daytime highs were in the upper 80's, but the nights cooled down to the mid-60's.
