Ending One Chapter & Beginning a New One...

Saying goodbye to home didn't come without heavy emotions. Let's face it, home is home. Miami is where we met. It's where we went to college. Most of our friends are there. But, we knew we were ready for a change. We ran the numbers until we were blue in the faces, and then ran them again with worst case scenarios. Nonetheless, putting in those resignations and saying goodbye to our jobs, friends and our old lives was not easy. Making things worse, we had recently lost our dogs due to old age. So these final few months were an emotional time to say the least. 

Deep down we knew leaving Miami and resigning from our jobs was the right decision though. Our careers were stressful and demanding, shift-work careers in healthcare and public service. It had been over a decade since we had spent a Christmas together, shift-work can be like that... We knew that if push came to shove, we could jump right back into these careers. We figured we would never look back with regret if all we got to do was take a year or two off and travel the world. 

So that's it! Goodbye South Florida!
